A misty Vancouver morning

I’m sitting in a Holiday Inn lobby in downtown Vancouver waiting for my business companions. Yesterday was an extremely long travel day – it felt like a European-length voyage. Of course, by distance it is not much less… Neil talked me into a bloody mary at the BWI airport before boarding our first plane. Believe it or not, it was my first bloody mary (odd I know). It was pretty good. We also had lunch at the Greene Turtle which would prove to be our only real meal of the day. At our layover in Philly we had some more beer as well as some coffee and cookies.

The flight from Vancouver to Philly was uneventful but quite long. Luckily Neil was able to get us exit row seats, and the center seat between us was empty. In fact, the flight was only about 50% full. We arrived about 8:30 pm or so and caught a taxi here to the Holiday Inn on Howe Street. The city has a slight European fell to it. The darkness hid any scenic beauty of the area unfortunately during our drive. After checking in I quickly fell asleep and got a full eight hours sleep.

I awoke to a cool and dreary morning with misting rain. It put me in mind of my beloved London. As the day was not conducive to sightseeing I popped across the street to Starbucks for a vanilla latte and a turkey bacon muffin. I surfed the net for a little while and checked out a band my friend recommended called O.A.R. on my Nokia. Eventually I wandered back to the hotel and spent some time reviewing Neil’s website needs with him. At this point we’re about to head out to lunch.
