Heading back from Nashville

The show was awesome. We left the hotel and then toured the Opry Museum. The highlighted exhibits at the museum were Minnie Pearl, Roy Acuff, Patsy Cline, and Marty Robbins. Then we did a little souvenir shopping at the Opry Shop. After we relaxed on a bench out front for a while it was time to go in. The two hour show was jam-packed with acts: Riders in the Sky, Jimmy C Newman, Heidi Newfield, Jimmy Dickens, Bobby Osbourne and the Rocky Top X-Press, Darryl Worley, Marty Stuart, Jesse McReynold and the Virginia Boys, Connie Smith, Trace Adkins, Julie Roberts, and T.G. Sheppard. The women in the audience went crazy when Trace took the stage. Mom’s highlight was a cameo appearance by Englebert Humperdink. My highlight was when Bobby Osbourne stirred up the crowd with “Rocky Top.” We’re now about to head out for the long, long drive back.
