At the Airport

We have been at the BWI airport for almost an hour. We still have almost 3 hours before our planes leaves, but with the 2+ hour drive and unpredictable traffic, we felt it was a case of better safe than sorry. We stuck to our plan of limiting ourselves to a single carry-on and personal item each. We are quite the poster children of “Ricknicks” as the followers of Rick Steves’ travel philosophy are known. Sporting Rick Steves’ convertible backpacks, day bags, guidebooks, etc we are at the same time 1) expanding our horizons through travel 2) bringing the insight of a trusted expert 3) supporting the economy of the Redmond, Washington, area and 4) broadcaating the slightly goofy, slightly intellectual image of the enlightened America traveler. Phew, that’s tiring work! 🙂

The method of the convertible backup with multiple packing cubes and bags to organize and compress belongings seems to be working well so far. Security was a breeze.
