After breakfast at Starbucks we made the journey down to Buckingham Palace to watch the Changing of the Guards Ceremony. Our viewpoint from the Victoria Monument was excellent. It was quite good to see as it’s one of those obligatory tourist experiences, but…. I don’t know – maybe the heat has just zapped my energy or I’m coming down with something. It just didn’t blow me away like I would have expected.
We next bought our tickets for the bus, but we didn’t take the tour for very long until we realized if we were going to tour St. Paul’s we had better save the tour for later in the day. We got off in Notting Hill and took the tube to St. Paul’s. We are now having a lunch in their cafe (in the crypt like at St. Martins in the Field). We will tour the cathedral after we eat.
