Our tube trip from Kilburn Park to King’s Cross via Baker Street was crowded but smooth. The train left exactly on time. This is the way to travel. No cramped seating. No silly carry-on restrictions. Tea, coffee, and snacks served from a trolley with real food in the restaurant car. I spent the first part of the journey perusing the papers. (The Times for news, The Daily Mail for titlation — you’ve got to have both in life).
We are rolling through the green hills of England – lots of farmland. Looking forward to York.
