We dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed to the Piccadilly Circus area. The hotel is the same as last time. It’s a bit of a trek from central London, but it’s not too bad with the Tube. Plus, it almost feels like an old friend since we stayed here before. I was feeling knackered when we arrived, so I decided to take a shower before heading back out. Unfortunately London was sweltering, so I didn’t accomplish much.
Since we were hot and tired we wandered around aimlessly and ended up off Trafalgar Square. As England had just lost in the World Cup an hour or so earlier, many of the eating establishments were not busy. We ended up at a spot off the Square called the Albannach. The fish and chips were decent, but not amazing. Still, it was just nice to sit somewhere cool. Heat and jet lag have done me in, but Becky seems not as affected as me. Ninety degrees Fahrenheit in London.
