{"id":46,"date":"2007-10-03T01:34:00","date_gmt":"2007-10-03T01:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wjimhudson.com\/?p=46"},"modified":"2007-10-03T01:34:00","modified_gmt":"2007-10-03T01:34:00","slug":"2007102our-seventh-day-in-prague-html","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wjimhudson.com\/?p=46","title":{"rendered":"Our seventh day in Prague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"yui_3_10_1_1_1390357893350_168484\">We had breakfast downstairs and then went to take pictures of the House of the Black Madonna &#8211; a little architectural gem in the Cubist style so they say.  This was followed by a visit to the castle.  While we waited for the changing of the guard ceremony, we were entertained by the Prague Funtime Orchestra &#8211; a 3-piece ensemble with clarinet, bass, and accordion.  We watched the guard ceremony from a spot next to the stature of TGM &#8211; the first president of Czechoslavakia. The ceremony was well choreographed, but we were a little far away and the crowd pressed in so it was a bit hard to see.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3093\/2742181309_4ef558ab4b.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"House of the Black Madonna\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3051\/2743018674_402a7ca0c0.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"Changing of the Guard at Prague Castle\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3057\/2743018860_94f671c987.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"Prague Funfair Orchestra\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_10_1_1_1390357893350_168499\">We then walked past the shops of Nerudova street and past the painted house signs to catch a tram to Wenceslas Square where we ate again at Pizza Colosseum.  Becky got the same pizza as the first time, while  I tried something called \u201cBufala\u201d  on the menu &#8211; mozzarella, mushrooms, and basil.  Trying to pronounce it as \u201cboo-fa-la,\u201d the waiter corrected me and said it was pronounced \u201cbuffalo\u201d for the buffalo mozzarella cheese they use\u2026. Go figure.   \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3167\/2743019104_35d26f769d.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"Tyn Church\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_10_1_1_1390357893350_168505\">We then shopped for a few souvenirs and surfed the new while sitting at Old Town Square.  We then visited Tyn Church &#8211; breathtaking and huge.  Over the alter, maybe 30 feet up is a statue of an angel in armor with a flaming sword.  Its hand is outreached as it to smite you.  Before television, movies, or even magazines, I can imagine the effect this realistically colored statue had on church goers.  It does look as if it is ready to come to life.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3089\/2742330703_e1f0467a90.jpg\" title=\"\" alt=\"Becky in Prague\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_10_1_1_1390357893350_168511\">We ended our day at Charles Bridge with one last stroll.  We saw our first metro cop checking tickets on the way back.
